I disagree completely. I think the food network is a great channel to learn how to cook! People should read things online or take a class to learn that they need to wash their hands after touching raw chicken or meat. A competitor in a competition isn't going to stop, smile, and say "Make sure to wash your hands now!" The food network chefs are not serving a restaurant, they don't need to check the temperature of the meat. They know if it's done by the feel, and when they cut it open.
If someone were to use the same knife to cut chicken and then to cut bread, they would have to be a complete idiot.
As for the hair nets, NO ONE USES THEM! Who wants to watch Guy Fieri in a hair net with all of the people in the background with hair nets on?
